  47. Does anyone know of some good MOD and 669 composition programs that wil
  48. will work with GUS?

  50. I suppose MODed will, but I really want a good 669 program. Farandole
  51. doen't like my VGA card and Composer669 doesn't recognize my GUS as a
  52. sound blaster (even with SBOS 2.0b10)

  86.      I plan to buy a GUS one of these days, probably for Christmas.
  87.      I read that the GUS has a speed compensating Game Port, but  I 
  88. have not been able to find out if the port supports dual joysticks(I 
  89. know most sound cards do not).  Can anyone tell me if you can hook 
  90. up the Gravis GamePad to the GUS and use all four buttons, or hook 
  91. up a Y-connector cable and use two joysticks at once?  I have a dual 
  92. joystick speed compensating Game Card but it would be great if I 
  93. could use the GUS instead.

  115. Yes, I HAVE been able to get HH1 from Apogee to work with SBOS 1.20. The
  116. problem is that the music is VERY garbled as is the sound effects. Are
  117. there any options (-o1, -x2, etc) that will make it work properly? Or
  118. maybe a different version of SBOS (1.21, 1.4, etc)? I would love to know...

  128. I have my GUS now for some time, and mods and demos sound terrific, but last
  129. night when i installed RETURN TO ZORK, ultramid (wich is included with the ga-
  130. me didn't recognize my GUS.. it said that the ultrasound card wasn't located.
  131. I have the old disks (with SBOS 1.2)... Do i need the new disks?

  143. Reading this Digest makes the UltraSound seem like the best thing since
  144. sliced bread.  However, when I try to find one, I get a very different
  145. picture.

  147. I can't find a single local store that carries it.  Some used to, but say that
  148. they no longer carry it.  Checking mail-order ads, I can only find two places
  149. that even list the UltraSound at all.  I tried calling Advanced Gravis, and
  150. was told that "we don't sell direct to customers".
  151.  
  152. So what's the story here?  Is this product too new? (its been out over a year)
  153. Will it ever become a mainstream sound option for PC's, or is it destined to
  154. only be a niche oddity?  Is it on the verge of being discontinued?

  164. I have uploaded TESTRECS.ZIP to archive.epas.utoronto.edu in the
  165. /pub/pc/ultrasound/submit directory.
  166.  
  167. TESTRECS.ZIP contains three test recordings from the Gravis UltraSound 
  168. soundcard.  I made these recordings to compare the quality of three 
  169. different recording programs: USS8, PLAYFILE, and GUSDELAY (a new, 
  170. unreleased version).  This new, soon-to-be released version of GUSDELAY 
  171. uses a revolutionary new recording technique that I developed (so I may be a 
  172. little biased when I say "revolutionary") which allows jitter-free and 
  173. dropout-free recording with the GUS.

  188. I just loaded KQ6 on my hard drive and installed
  189. the GUS drivers.  The music/digitals are fine
  190. during the game, but if I attempt to ewatch the
  191. opening scene I get a lock up on the video and then the audio dies too!
  192. Can anyone help?  I have a 1meg GUS, 1meg Trident 8900 video,
  193. 486DLC with 4 megs RAM.  Thanks!
